Elkin's Chris Hudspeth lit up the hoop all night, leading all scorers with 20 points.
Forbush struggled early, and only scored six points in the first quarter, but still held the Elks to just two.
Michael Scott, one of the leading Falcon scorers was absent from the line up, due to an illness.
Despite Scott's absence, the Falcons showed signs of life at times, but couldn't string together full quarters of play.
Just before halftime, the Falcons found themselves down 13-12.
As time ticked down on the clock, the Buckin' Elks exploded for seven in the final seconds of the game, including a three-pointer that Jonathan Stroud drilled near half-court.
"I think that was the turning point. If you saw them (Forbush) leaving the court, it was like ‘Man, nothing is going right,’” said Elkin Coach Clarence Edwards.
Hudspeth entered the second half on fire, hitting three three-pointers in the third quarter to boost the Elks to a 42-22 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Although the Falcons exploded for 25 in the fourth quarter, Elkin was able to add another 18 points and hold on for the win.
Matt Cain and Avery Ravit combined for 25 points and led the Falcons, while Hudspeth and Grayson Kimrey combined for 34.
The Falcons attemped to rebound against the visiting Alleghany Trojans on Tuesday night during senior night.
At press time, results were unavailable.
Forbush will wrap up the conference schedule on Friday at Wilkes Cental in a huge 2A showdown.
