Boonville United Methodist was established in 1897. The present brick structure sanctuary was built in the late 1920s.
"The hut was our old fellowship building and was constructed in the 50s," Pastor Jenny Stewart said. "Our parsonage was built in 1955. This is our first new construction in 50 years."
Stewart said that the average attendance for Sunday morning services is 100. Sunday morning services are at 9:30 a.m. followed by Sunday school.
"We hope to add an additional Sunday morning service sometime in the future," Stewart said.
The new structure was added to the existing sanctuary and is approximately 2,500 square feet.
"Our new hall has seating for 175 at tables and 300 in chairs," she said. "We have a new kitchen, restrooms and storage on the ground level which is where the building connects to the sanctuary. The lower level now houses a new nursery, a very large youth room and children's classrooms.
"Our concentration service was held on Jan. 23 and now that everything is in place we want to open the doors and invite the public in to share in our joy," Stewart said.
"We will provide refreshments for all those who wish to join us."
Boonville United Methodist is located at 116 North Carolina Avenue, and fronts U.S. 601.
