The Starmount Middle School athletic booster golf tournament will be held at Silo Run in Boonville on April 16.
The cost will be $200 per team and includes lunch beginning at 12:30. A $300 cash prize will be awarded to the first-place team, $200 for second-place, and $100 for third-place. For more information, call the middle school at 468-6833.
Strike out cancer night
Strike Out Cancer night will be April 19, at 6 p.m. during the Starmount-Forbush Softball game.
This year's game is being played in honor of former Starmount student, Meme Brown.
Donations will be taken at the gate and door prizes will be given away at the game to those who buy tickets.
Pre-orders for t-shrits can be paid for by April 3. Costs for the shirts will be $10 for youth small through adult extra large, and $15 for adult XXL and up.
All donations and proceeds will go to Meme Brown to aid in medical costs/expenses.

Rotary Clubs Golf Tournament
The Yadkinville and Yadkin Valley Rotary Clubs will be hosting the 2011 Annual Benefit Tournament at Cedarbrook Country Club in Elkin on May 26.
There will be a lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by the shotgun start at 1 p.m.
Registration is $75 per player, which includees a raffle ticket, a gift back, two mulligans and lunch. Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place teams in each flight. Prizes will also be awarded for a hole in one, closest to the pin, and longest drive on designated holes.
