Billy Joe Prim

Mr. Billy Joe Prim, 77, of Nebo Road in East Bend, passed away Saturday Jan. 3, 2009 at his home. 

He was born May 26, 1931 in Yadkin County to the late Joe and Lona Jackson Prim. 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Daniels and Myrl Dockery; and a brother, Harold Prim. 

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Bertha H. Prim; two daughters, Irene (Ray) Casstevens and Judy (Tim) Borre; a son, Edward (Glenda) Prim; seven grandchildren, Marty (Crystal) Casstevens, Kelly (Alan) Jarvis, Angie (Shannon) Adams, Adam Prim, Wesley (Lauren) Borre, Alex and Jessica Borre; four great-grandchildren, Dakota and Dylan Casstevens, Hayden and Finnlea Adams; one step great-grandson, Curtis Hutson; two sisters, Beatrice (Walser) Bates, and Helen (Joe) Brown; a brother, Bud (Nellie) Prim; and one sister-in-law, Leta Prim. 

Mr. Prim was a farmer who enjoyed working his crops and mules. 

He planted a large garden to share with family, friends, and neighbors as long as his health allowed him to. 

He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his dog, Spunky. 

His funeral service was held on Tuesday, Jan 6 in the Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Eddy Driver. 

Burial followed in Yadkin Memorial Gardens. 

The family received friends Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
