The Yadkin County Health Department will begin using a new child health program that was developed by the American Academy of Pediatrics called BRIGHT FUTURES on Oct. 3, 2011. Debbie Dennis, FNP, Yadkin County Health Department, states,”I am looking forward to having a consistent statewide physical and documentation process in all North Carolina Health Department well child clinics.”
The Bright Futures Program is an exciting way to look at your child’s needs based on your concerns. The Bright Futures Program is to help improve the care of infants, children, middle aged children and teenagers.
When you bring your child to the Health Department, you will fill out a list of questions that will help the staff know what you want to talk about at the visit. Parents will get information that will be based on the child’s specific age group and needs of child.
Yadkin County Health Department sees children for well child visits at 1 week, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months and then every year from 2 – 21 years of age. In addition to well child visits, children will also be seen for sick visits, as needed.
