Sheetz-Everette exchange vows
Kayla Jo Sheetz and Lance Norman Everette were married on Saturday evening, June 25, 2011, at Charity Baptist Church in Boonville. The Rev. Joe Sheetz, grandfather of the bride, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Dave and Kay Becker of Florida, and Joe and Debbie Sheetz of Tennessee. Her maternal grandparents are Donna Stevens and Leo Syntax and Ron and Judie Stevens, all of Florida. Her paternal grandparents are Joe Sheetz and the late Dorothy Sheetz of Glade Valley, N.C. The bride graduated from Saint Petersburg College in Florida and is teaching at North Iredell Middle School in Statesville.
The groom is the son of Buster and Lu’gene Everette of Boonville. His maternal grandparents are James and Shirley Holsclaw and Archie and Abby Hobson, all of Boonville. His paternal grandparents are the late Charles and Colleen Everette. The groom graduated from Pfeiffer University. He is a teacher and coach at Davie County High School in Mocksville.
The bride was escorted by her stepfather and father. The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Tiffany Brooks of Tennessee. The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Leigh Ann Sheetz of Georgia. The bridesmaids were the bride’s sisters, Jenny Becker and Megan Cardero of Florida; Amanda Meredith, friend of the bride, also of Florida; and Katie Marler, friend of the bride, of East Bend. The flower girl was Taylor Brooks of Tennessee and the ring bearer was Landon Marler of East Bend.
The groom’s father was the best man. Groomsmen included Rodney Hobson, uncle of the groom, of Boonville; Clint Carpenter of Concord, Mike Martin of Statesville, Anthony Marler of East Bend, Travis Frye of Mooresville and Adam Millard of Virginia, all friends of the groom. The ushers were Tyler Gums, cousin of the bride, of Florida and Tristan Slawter, friend of the groom of Mount Airy.
A special Clearwater Beach sand ceremony was held uniting the couple. The reading was done by Ron Stevens, grandfather of the bride.
Bridal showers were hosted in Clearwater, Florida by friends and family of the bride. A “man-power” shower was hosted by friends and family of the groom in Boonville.
The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents was held at the Depot for the bridal party and special out of town guests. The reception, hosted by Dave and Kay Becker was held at the Magnolia Room at Wake Forest University.
Following their honeymoon at a resort in Cancun, the couple is currently residing in Hamptonville.
