Mr. Ronald Gray Norman of Flint Hill Road, East Bend, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was 71.

He was born Aug. 7, 1940, in Yadkin County to the late Charlie Foy and Mae Elizabeth Bowman Norman.

Mr. Norman was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel College, a member of New Home United Methodist Church, East Bend Volunteer Fire Department, retired as the Fire Marshall for Yadkin County, and was retired from Fowler Jones Construction Company.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Ann Holden Norman; his son-in-law, William Gregory Pardue; a sister, Yvonne Norman Owen; and a brother, Carlysle Norman.

Surviving are his daughters, Denise Norman Foutz and husband Richard of Boone, Karen Norman Richards and husband Loren of East Bend; grandchildren, Alex Foutz, Rachel Foutz, Abby Pardue, Blaine Richards; twin brother, Donald Bowman Norman, brother, Gordon Allan Norman, both of East Bend; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mr. Norman was held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at New Home United Methodist Church with Rev. Nancy Krall and Rev. Bob Choplin, officiating. The family received friends in the New Home United Methodist Fellowship Hall immediately following the service on Saturday.
