Tony Gray Sloop, who was charged in 2008 with at least 100 peeping charges and several other charges relating to indecent liberties with child, was scheduled yet again to appear in Yadkin County Superior Court this week.

Charges listed on the calendar in addition to multiple felony secret peeping counts included five counts first degree rape child; five counts first degree sex offense child; eight counts indecent liberties with child; two counts statutory rape.

As previously reported in The Yadkin Ripple, Sloop allegedly met his victims through his church and through a tanning bed in his home. After the initial charges were filed, other young women came forward regarding their experiences with Sloop. There were a total of nine victims reported.

As of press time, it was unknown whether Sloop’s case, which was listed as number 103 on the calendar, would be reached in this session.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation provided that 51 registered sex offenders live in Yadkin County. Sloop is currently not registered as a sex offender in North Carolina and will not be required to register unless he is convicted of the charges filed against him.
