James Elwood Hutchens, 75, of Yadkinville passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center.

He was born April 3, 1937, in Yadkin County to the late Cleve and Ida Hutchens. Mr. Hutchens was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Marty Elwood Hutchens; five sisters; four brothers. Surviving are his wife, Reba Ann Bowman Hutchens; brothers, Ray (Lois) Hutchens, Harvey (Goldie) Hutchens; several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2012, at Courtney Baptist Church by the Rev. Ricky Adkins and the Rev. Keith Jones. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Courtney Baptist Church.
