The Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office responded May 21 to a shooting call at 1115 Styers Mill Road in Yadkinville, according to a sheriff’s office press release.
When officers arrived they located the victim, Valorie Allgood, who appeared to have been shot in the back of the head. After talking to neighbors and the victim, the suspect was identified as Brian Leonard Allgood, the husband of the victim, according to the report.
A blue Subaru wagon was located one mile south on Styers Mill Road.
The suspect had evidentlly wrecked the vehicle, according to the release. When the officers arrived they located Brian Allgood in the vehicle with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The victim had an active domestic violence order against him that had been served and also a case pending for assault on a female; Valorie Allgood, being the victim, according to the release. Both the victim and the suspect are recovering from their wounds.
Brian Leonard Allgood was charged on June 14 with attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, larceny of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.
He was placed in the care of North Carolina Department of Correction Safe Keeping due to his injuries. He is under no bond.
