Robert ” Bob” Marler departed this earth on Thursday, July 3, 2012 . destination Heaven to spend eternity with his Heavenly father.

Bob was the son of Joe F. and Lena Hennings Marler Sr.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Darrin Kirby; and two brothers, Richard and Charles of East Bend.

Surviving are his wife Jessie (JP) Marler; two sons Craig Marler (Joyce Hawks) and Marty L. Marler; one grandson Rush Marler; one brother Joe F. Marler Jr.; three sisters Betty Adams (Junior Adams), Carolyn Williams(Max Williams), of East Bend, and Hazel Cave of Boonville; and several special nieces and nephews.

Bob was a long time member of Gospel Way Baptist Church in Yadkinville, where he served as deacon, teacher and song leader.

He retired from R. J. Reynolds Research and Development after 38 years.

There was a visitation on Friday, July 6, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Gospel Way Baptist Church, by Pastor Doug Cothren and long time friend Roy Eddleman. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
