Mr. Otto Carl Langhurst, 90, of Yadkinville, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center.

He was born January 1, 1922, in Pittsburgh, PA to Otto Carl Langhurst, Sr. and Helen Griffith Langhurst. Mr. Langhurst was first and foremost a Christian, and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Yadkinville.He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 508 Parachute Corps. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and was a member of Wilshire Golf Club.

Mr. Langhurst was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Stephen and Richard Langhurst; a brother, Wylie Langhurst; and a sister, Lola Davitt.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Mable Martin Langhurst; four daughters, Beverly Casper (Rubin) of Kernersville, Carolyn Green of East Bend, Marilyn Mullis of Ronda, and Michele Mullis (Gray) of Yadkinville; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a special nephew, James Morelli. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Monroe Otto and the Rev. John Moxley officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 3917 Old US 421 Hwy E, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
