Eye of the Artist exhibit

“Eye of the Artist” showcases the diverse artistic talent of 68 North Carolina artists. Submissions of work in 2D and 3D were selected by committee. David Simpson, artist and owner of The Germanton Gallery, judged the submissions. First, second and third place awards went to:
Patty Bailey Sheets - 1st place award of $1000 for her oil portrait, “Concentration” (pictured here)
Sharon Grubbs - 2nd place award of $600 for her oil portrait, “Smitty, A Carolina Farm Boy
Ginny Conaway - 3rd place award of $400 for her watercolor, “Red Clay Creek.”
Honorable Mentions went to: Jeremy Sams, Janelle DiLizio, Phyllis Hinton Haile, Lynda Sanders, Shannon Rainey and Cheryl Powell.

The Granddaddy of Festivals
Traffic-free “avenues” of agriculture, art, handicrafts, old-time blue ribbon competitions, food vendors, relay races, live music on two stages, carriage rides, Yadkin “Idol” competition and much more will transform downtown Yadkinville in and around the Cultural Center during the “granddaddy of festivals in the Yadkin Valley!”

Hours: noon to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
Beginner’s Mosaics – Jody Pounds
Cost: $75 – all tools and supplies included
Learn the wonderful art of mosaics. This can be started at any time – I work with your schedule. You need to plan on 5 or 6 2-hour sessions, but it depends on the speed at which you work. When finished you will have a 12” x 12” mosaic you will be proud to call your own.
Age Limit: 18+ unless accompanied by an adult
