EAST BEND - The Falcons return from their bye week Friday still searching for their first win of the season.

Forbush hosts East Wilkes in Week Nine trying to break through into the win column as the football season hits the home stretch.

At 0-7 overall and 0-5 in conference play, the Falcons sit at the bottom of the Mountain Valley Conference standings. But wins in its final three games, could send Forbush into the postseason.

The Falcons take on one-win East Wilkes, who blew a 14-7 lead against Wilkes Central last week, in East Bend.

In Boonville, Starmount took another step towards another MVAC title with a dominating 42-3 win over West Wilkes last week.

At 7-0 and 5-0 on the year, the Rams remain in the driver seat for a fifth-straight crown.

Starmount hosts North Wilkes (3-5, 3-3) this Friday looking to stay in control in Week Nine.

All games kick off at 7:30 p.m.
