On Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, Mary Jane Beverly Wind, of East Bend, went to be with the Lord after a mercifully short battle with cancer.
She was born July 21, 1936 in Collins Center, N.Y. to the late Ellsworth and Susan Farnsworth Beverly.
From a family of eight children, Mary Jane had seven brothers.
She is preceded in death by Paul and Leslie Beverly.
Mary Jane was a beloved wife, loving mother, treasured sister, and a talented homemaker.
Mrs. Wind was an active member of Prospect United Methodist Church in East Bend.
She was founder of the East Bend Quilters Guild; sister in the East Bend Red Hat Society; volunteer for the Yadkin Christian Ministries; and a performer with the singing group,Young at Heart.
She is survived by her husband, James J. Wind; children, Rhinehardt J. Wind of Arkansas, James R. Wind of Carolina Beach, Heath C. Wind of Winston-Salem, and Ella J. Novak, also of Winston-Salem; brothers, Rhinehardt J., Everett, Albert, Frank, and David Beverly.
A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, March 7 at Prospect United Methodist Church.
