EAST BEND - Six Yadkin County tennis players were honored by the Mountain Valley Conference this week when the conference released the annual end-of-the year awards.

Deanna Wilkins, the 2A singles silver medalist at the conference tournament in October, earned the only all-conference nod for Forbush. Teammates Lauren Hardison and MaKayla Pendergrass were named to the honorable mention squad.

State qualifiers Heaven Walters and Ashley Griffin brought home all-conference honors for Starmount, along with Miracle Walters.
