The location for the free standing Family Dollar is currently under construction. According to town and county officials the company is opening a new location and will be closing its current location in the Yadkin Plaza Shopping Center.
The land located across the street from Food Lion in Yadkinville will be developed into a free standing Family Dollar store.
Paul Lowe, Yadkinville’s Director of Planning and Development, confirmed at the Jan. 9 Yadkinville Downtown Business Association meeting that the dollar discount store will be opening a new location in the area.
Family Dollar currently has a store in the Yadkin Plaza Shopping Center located off south State Street.
According to Bobby Todd, Yadkin County Chamber of Commerce Director, the current location will be up for sale and several chain businesses are looking into the property.
Bryn Winburn, Public Relations Manager for Family Dollar, stated that there was no updated information regarding the new store in an email.
Family Dollar is Fortune 300 Company that has been in the business of selling a variety of food and home products and apparel. The company has been in business for 50 years and has over 7,000 locations in 44 states.
