The Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office reported an arrest on March 22 in an assault that occurred on March 21 at a residence on Hwy. 21 in the Hamptonville area.
Orlando Hernandaz Rodriguez, 25 of 1209 US Hwy 21, Hamptonville, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflciting serious injury. Rodriguez allegedly went to the victim, Jose Terrero’s home in Hamptonville and stabbed him twice.
Witnesses to the incident stated that after stabbing Terrero, Rodriguez left on foot. According to the report filed by the investigating officers, Rodriguez and Terrero were acquainted and were involved in an altercation earlier in the day that may have led to the assault.
Rodriquez was located and arrested without incident. He is being held in the Yadkin County Jail under $100,000 bond.
The medical status of the victim was unknown prior to press time.
Rodriguez is scheduled to appear in Yadkin County District Court on March 25.
