ELKIN - The Lady Falcons continued their late-season surge, cruising past Elkin Friday night.

A red-hot Forbush squad blew past the Lady Elks 63-39, notching their seventh conference win of the season.

The Falcons pulled ahead early, scoring the first seven points of the game, grabbing a 16-7 lead at the end of one. The Falcons pushed the advantage out to 21-9 midway through the second before Elkin responded.

The Elks closed the half on a 7-2 spurt to head into the locker room within striking distance at 23-16.

But the Falcons dominated the third quarter to put the game out reach. Forbush out-scored the Elks 19-9 in the frame to grab a 42-25 lead heading to the fourth.

In the final period, the Falcons put the finishing touches on the 63-39 victory.

Brittany Moose powered Forbush with 18 points on the night, while Maddi Morsch added 11. Kala Doub finished with nine points with Savannah Hill tacking on five.

The Falcons return the court in the final week of the regular season, hosting Alleghany Tuesday night on Senior Night before heading to Wilkes Central Friday.
