The Yadkin Alleghany 4-H Dairy Skillathon Team won first place in the North Carolina 4-H Dairy Skillathon held in Iredell County.
The contest is designed to test youth’s knowledge on various aspects of the dairy industry. The contest consisted of a written examination, equipment identification, feed identification, evaluating a class of hay, judging a class of dairy cattle and dairy foods identification.
The team also competed in the dairy quiz bowl contest.
Members of the team are: Noah Pendry, Leah Thomas, Tiffany Mount, Kalli Spaugh, Natasha Hamm and Coach Melissa Staebner.
