EAST BEND - On the heels of last week’s upset victory over No. 8 West Stokes, the Lady Falcons have jumped up the state rankings.
Forbush, now 6-0 on the season and 4-0 in the Mountain Valley Conference, replaced the Wildcats as the eighth-ranked squad in the state, according to Eurosport.
Playing their first game with their top-10 status Monday night in the rain, the Falcons proved why they are the team to beat in the league. Forbush dismantled Yadkin County rival Starmount en route to a dominating 12-0 victory.
The win over the Rams came after another shutout win against West Wilkes last Friday night.
Jennifer Baity powered the Falcons to the 6-0 victory with two goals on the night.
The Pfeiffer commit got Forbush on the board first eight minutes into the game when she punched in a rebound attempt.
Haley Lindsay added a second goal six minutes later before Natalie York found the back of the net to give the Falcons a 3-0 halftime lead.
Baity scored her second goal of the game three minutes into the second half as Forbush cruised to the 6-0 win.
The Lady Falcons have won six-straight games to open the season, out-scoring their opponents 41-1 over that stretch, with five clean sheets.
Forbush returns to the pitch Thursday night against Elkin (3-2-1).
