Three Yadkin County high school girls basketball players made the All-District 11 team for 2008-09.
Starmount sophomore guard Kelli Bonner was voted to the first team, while Ram senior Julianna Prim earned second team. Forbush senior forward Racheal Salmons earned a spot on the third team.
District 11 is made up of 35 schools from the following Alleghany, Alexander, Ashe, Caldwell, Davie, Iredell, Rowan, Stokes, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin counties.
Kim McNeil of Ashe County was voted the District 11 Player of the Year. Ashe coach Laura Foster was Coach of the Year.
Other first-teamers included Kelsey Long of East Surry, Jessica Brown of West Stokes and Emily Culler of North Surry.
The rest of the second team included Mallary Clay (Ashe), Taylor Hiatt (Mount Airy), Nicole Rumplasch (North Surry) and Courtney Simmons (East Surry). Other third-teamers included Kelsey Hawks (West Stokes), Maggie McKee (Mount Airy), Katie Ryder (Wilkes Central) and Haley Williams (Wilkes Central).

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 2A: Wilkes Central earned a nine-stroke win in the first Mountain Valley conference match of the season at Oakwoods Country Club on Monday.
The Eagles finished with a 151 team score, followed by North Surry 160, Forbush 175, Surry Central 183, Ashe County 186, Starmount 194 and North Wilkes 209.
Durant Cowles had the top score for Starmount, a 46. Rhett Brown and Kenny Stanley each shot 49s, followed by Jacob Henderson 50, Josh Hobson 52 and Tanner Vestal 55.
The next MVAC match is Thursday, hosted by Surry Central at Beaver Creek.

STARMOUNT BOYS 6, NORTH WILKES 3: The Rams won a close one Tuesday, with three matches advancing to third-set tiebreakers.
