Goldie Miller Crissman Hobson

Mrs. Goldie Miller Crissman Hobson, 93, of Richmond Hill Road in Boonville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 19, 2009. 

Goldie was born Aug. 21, 1915 in Yadkin County to the late Ulysses Grant Miller and Lura Bertha Hobson Miller. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, infant Robert, Powell Miller, and Leo Miller, sisters, infant Anita, Hazel Prim, and Bernice Matthews; husbands, F. Elmer Crissman, and Claude H. Hobson; sons-in-law, Weldon Hutchens Jr., and W.G. Stinson. 

Goldie loved the Lord and has left a legacy for all those she’s left behind. 

She lived her life by The Golden Rule “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. 

The prayer of her family is that everyone will come to know Jesus as their Savior so they can be reunited with Goldie someday. 

“Trust in the Lord always” was Goldie’s motto. 

Surviving are her beloved children, Frankie C. Hutchens, Cora Lee (Mitchell) Casstevens, Jack (Linda) Crissman, Ross (Eloise) Crissman, Janice (Bobby) Moxley, and Kay (Wayne) Hayes; stepson, Don (Nancy) Hobson; 17 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Floyd (Marion) Miller, and U.G. (Mary) Miller; sisters, Norene Matthews, Bertha Wright, Estie Jones, and Rosa (Lovell) Matthews; and her special caregiver and friend, Shelby Crook.  She will lie in state from 2 - 3 p.m. today, May 21 at Richmond Hill Baptist Church. 

Her funeral service will follow in the church at 3 p.m. with Rev. Dan Merritt, Rev. Will Hamric, and her grandson, Andy Crissman officiating. 

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Family Life Center of Richmond Hill Baptist Church, and other times at the home of Mrs. Hobson, 2305 Richmond Hill Church Road. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Richmond Hill Baptist Church, 2205 Richmond Hill Church Road, Boonville, NC  27011, or to Mountain Valley Hospice, PO Box 1267, Yadkinville, NC  27055.
