Captain Patrick Long of the Yadkinville Police Department reported an arrest on Monday resulting from an assault on a Yadkinville resident that occurred in an abandoned mobile home on Harrison Ave.

Phillip Adams, 38 of Harrison Ave. was taken to Hoots Memorial Hospital on Sept. 20 with severe head injuries. Hospital officials notified the Yadkinville Police Department. Adams told officers he was beaten about the head with a piece of pipe.

An investigation into the incident led to the arrest of Aaron Thaddius Harmon, 23, of S. Van Buren St., Yadkinville. Harmon was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury. He was incarcerated under a $25,000 unsecured bond.

No further information was released concerning why the individuals, who both live in the area, were in the abandoned trailer.

Both Harmon and Phillips have a criminal record in Yadkin County and investigators suspect that the assault might have been alcohol or drug related.
