Firetrucks, law enforcement vehicles, a few floats, the two high school bands, a long line of classic cars, the tractors, a half-dozen horses and Santa Claus rambled through downtown Yadkinville tossing candy to the delight of local youth during the Christmas parade Sunday. The Yadkinville Christmas Parade was scheduled for Saturday but pushed back a day because of rain. The parade was organized by the Yadkinville Volunteer Fire Department and the Yadkinville Police Department assisted with traffic control.
“All things considered, it went very well,” said Yadkinville Police Chief Tim Parks.
Attendees enjoyed having the parade on Sunday and most were pleased it was cold, but not unbearable. One bundled-up spectator remarked, the cold made it seem more like Christmas. “Now if it would only snow,” she said.
