HAMPTONVILLE-  Robert Dean “Yogi” Brown, 49, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday March 30, 2010. 

Robert was born June 8, 1960 to David G. and Doris W. Brown of Yadkinville. 

He was a graduate of Forbush High School Class of 1978. 

Following high school he served in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged in 1986. 

After serving his country, Robert received a diploma from Forsyth Technical Institute and was working toward a degree in Biomedical Equipment Repair. 

Robert loved his motorcycle, and the time he spent riding by himself or leading an organized ride for a charitable organization. 

Most recently he rode in and led the Buddy Renegar Benefit Ride in Lone Hickory. 

Robert is survived by his wife, Aileen Steelman Brown, of the home; son, Samuel Robert and wife, Michelle Brown, of Mount Airy; daughter, Danielle Nicole Brown of the home; parents, David and Doris Brown of East Bend; sisters, Kathy (Vernon) Wright and Lisa (Mickey) Hauser; brother, Michael (Vickie) Brown and several nieces and nephews.  Robert is also survived by special friends, Gregory Robertson, Darrell Smith, Wayne Brown, “Papa” Jim Everhart, his NC Retread family, his Freightliner buddies, and his beloved dog, “Scoobie.” 

The family received friends Thursday, April 1 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. 

His funeral service was held Friday, April 2 in the Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Georgianne Jones and the Rev. Darlene Pittman. 

Burial followed in the Branon Friends Cemetery with full military honors by Yadkin VFW Post No. 10346.
