Accident leads to charges

On April 29, 2010, NC Alcohol Law Enforcement agents arrested Jordan Lee Hodge, age 19, of 3001 Lone Hickory Road, Yadkinville.

Hodge was charged with three counts of aiding and abetting persons under 21 with the possession of alcoholic beverages.

The investigation and subsequent arrest stemmed from a serious injury accident on Lone Hickory Rd, Yadkinville. The driver, Amber Nicole Smith, lost control of her vehicle and struck a utility pole and a tree.

Smith was flown to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center where she remains.

Hodge was charged with aiding and abetting Amber Smith, age 19, Chelsea Lavender, age 20, and Joshua Woolschlager, age 20 in the possession of spirituous liquor and malt beverages. At the time of Hodge’s arrest, he was found to possess approximately 9 grams of marijuana, a marijuana smoking pipe, rolling papers and other drug paraphernalia. The marijuana and paraphernalia were located in a book bag Hodge had with him at the time.

Magistrate Hayes issued Hodge a $1,500. secured bond.
