Yadkin County Chamber of Commerce offers 'What's Shakin'' for June
June 18, 2010 - Farm Fresh Fridays at Laurel Gray Vineyards. This event will take place May through October on the third Friday of each month. This a reservation only event beginning at 6 p.m. and lasting until 7:30 p.m. The cost is $18 per person. Each guest will receive a glass of Laurel Gray wine paired with appetizers made from fresh organic herbs and vegetables along with local farm products. In addition, a guided tour of the vineyards and herb gardens and a educational session will be included. June 19, 2010 - Yadkin Valley Cruisers "Cruise-In"! Come out and see the old classic cars gathered around the courthouse square. June 19, 2010 - Shelton Vineyards presents summer concert series of 2010 featuring Legends of the Beach. Purchase your tickets in advance for $25 per person. Tickets purchased at the gate on the day of the concert will be $30.. The concert will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. Your ticket does not include food or wine. There will be food available for sale or you may bring a picnic basket. There will be no pets allowed at the concerts and no personal tents. No outside alcohol allowed. June 19, 2010 - Misty Creek Vineyards invites all dads to visit them between 2-4 p.m. to have caricaturist Eric Huffine do a charming and whimsical portrait of Dad on his special day. June 20, 2010 - Historic Richmond Hill, the restored home of Judge Richmond Pearson, will be open for tours from 2 - 4:30 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month. The park is the home of one of the new Civil War Trail markers, and is located at 4641 Law School Road in East Bend.
June 20, 2010 - Yadkin River Wine Trail Festivals of 2010, a series of five wine festivals showcasing the wines of the five Yadkin River Wine Trail vineyards. Each Festival, complete with great entertainment and a opportunity to purchase food from the vineyards restaurants, will be held the Third Sunday of each month, May through September, at a different vineyard. The festival in June will be hosted by Divine Llama Vineyards from Noon to 4 p.m. Locations and directions are available at www.yadkinriverwinetrail.com. A $10 tasting ticket allows visitors (21 years or older) to sample wines from all five vineyards that day, enjoy great entertainment, purchase local slow foods while spending a leisurely Sunday afternoon in wine country. Lawn chairs and blankets welcome but no picnic baskets. Participating vineyards are Cellar 4201, Divine Llama Vineyards, Flint Hill Vineyards, RagApple Lassie Vineyards and Sanders Ridge Winery and Restaurant. June 22, 2010 - Chamber Investors Luncheon will be held at noon at the Yadkin Center of Surry Community College in Yadkinville. Location has been changed this month so please make note. This month's luncheon is sponsored by Yadkin JobLink and catered by Taste of Italy.

Also, mark your calendars for upcoming events in July. The East Bend God & Country Celebration will be held on July 3, 2010, at the East Bend Elementary School. On July 4, 2010, Yadkinville will hold their 4th of July Celebration at Yadkinville Elementary School. Both events will feature entertainment, food, arts & crafts, parade and fireworks.
