Virginia Flynt Hilson Weyand of Advance, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at her home. She was 92.

Virginia was born April 2, 1918 to Ila Shore Flynt and R. C. Flynt in Forsyth County.

She was a 1936 graduate of Reynolds High School and received her associate's degree from Salem College in 1938. After college Virginia moved to New York and worked at Steuben Glass. There she met and married Edward Hilson.Virginia and her husband were world travelers and upon retirement settled in Winter Park, Fla.

Virginia's husband passed away in 1979 after a long battle with cancer. She later married Carl Weyand, and in 1991 they moved back to North Carolina and lived at Bermuda Village.

Virgina was an awesome lady who was very generous with all that she had. She was a member of Macedonia Moravian Church in Clemmons. During her last few years she was not active because of declining health. With help, she was able to stay in her home until her death.

She had 92 years on this earth and she will be fondly remembered by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, R.C Flynt Jr.: and two husbands, Edward Hilson and Carl Weyand.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Lou Flynt; nephew Larry Flynt and wife Patsy; a niece, Melissa Swain and husband Michael; great nephews Jeremy Flynt, Jason Swain, and Douglas Swain; great nieces, Holli Flynt, Melanie Nance and husband Matt, and Stephanie Swain; great-great niece and nephew Helen Rowland and Carter Nance; and a dear friend

June Baurman.

She was a long time patron and contributor to the arts. She dearly loved

Salem College and has a scholarship there in her name.
