Nannie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed. Mrs. Reece was born April 29, 1915 to the late John Wade and Myrtle Fleming Shore.
She was a retired school teacher for the Yadkin County School System. Mrs. Reece was a graduate of Boonville High School and also a graduate of the Woman’s College at (UNC-G) in 1936. She was a member of the Boonville United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy W. Reece April 9, 1956; a sister Martha Pearl Shore Martin.
She is survived are her children Roy W. “Bill” (Ardith) Reece Jr. of Candor; Anne R. (John) Campbell of Pilot Mountain; Mary R. (Gale) Wooten of East Bend; Henry Wade (Kathy) Reece of Raleigh; six grandchildren Scott Reece, Todd Reece, Paul Huffman, Merisue Donovant, Pam Steelman, Mary Beth Ford; 15 great grandchildren; two brothers John Wade Shore Jr., and Henry Fleming Shore; two special friends Clyde and Libby Wall.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday June 23, 2010 at Boonville United Methodist Church by the Rev. Andy Lambert. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial followed in the Boonville Cemetery.
The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center for the loving care given to Mrs. Reece.
