Mrs. Carrie Sue Taylor Vestal, of Vestal Street, Yadkinville, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was 71.

She was born March 14, 1939, in Forsyth County to the late Evan A. and Annie Tedder Taylor.

Mrs. Vestal was retired from the Town of Yadkinville and was active as a volunteer with the American Cancer Society. She was a faithful member of Harmony Grove Friends Meeting and served the church as an Elder, as well as the President and Treasurer of the Womens Missionary Circle. Mrs. Vestal was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to her family and the community.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James W. “Jim” Vestal, of the home; two daughters, Kim and husband Donnie Rose, Robin and husband Bobby Tysinger, all of Yadkinville; three grandchildren, Trent Tysinger, Kyle Tysinger, Daniel Rose; two sisters, Frances Baity, Ruby Stimpson; a brother, Juimmy W. Taylor; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to a special friend and caregiver, Renee Brown.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Harmony Grove Friends Meeting by Rev. Tom Vestal, Dr. Harold Salmons, and Rev. Fred Sener. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
