Faye Hemric Cartwright of Boonville died Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at Willowbrook Healthcare Center in Yadkinville. She was 76.

She was born in Surry County on May 6, 1934, daughter to the late Ernest Hemric and Mamie Roberts Hemric.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Edward Cartwright Sr.; a son Lawrence Edward Cartwright Jr.; a daughter Lisa Faye Cartwright Barnard; one sister Anne Roberts Hemric; and a special lady and dear friend Lanie C. Howard.

She is survived by two brothers, Gary Hemric and wife Pat, and Danny Hemric and wife Beverly; four sisters Claudette Roberts and husband Barney, Carol Browder, Norma Hamilton, and Libby Sizemore (Macks); a daughter in law, Sonja Cartwright; one grandson Robert Lawrence Cartwright; and one grand-daughter, Elizabeth Faye Cartwright.

A celebration of life service was held Sunday Aug. 8, 2010, from Mackie-Sinclair Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jon Bowman, and Rev. Charles Turner officiating. Burial followed in Peace Haven Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of WillowBrook Healthcare Center and a special thanks to Gloria Jenkins and Libby Vestal for their loving and caring of Mrs. Cartwright.
