Forbush Tennis vs. East Wilkes
The Forbush Falcons dropped a tough road loss to the East Wilkes Cardinals last Tuesday. The Falcons lost 8-1. Deanna Wilkins was shut out by Jessica Rumple 0-6, 0-6. Jordan Foster got the lone win for the Falcons when she beat Audrianna Bauguess 6-2, 3-6, (7-4). Danielle Steelman was defeated by Rachael Greene 0-6, 1-6. Maranda Buelin was defeated by Meredith Nance 1-6, 1-6. Sydney Branon was beat by Kelly Johnson 0-6, 1-6, and Krendle Norman, although putting up a fight, rounded out singles competition when she was beat by Hannah Brown 0-6, 3-6.
For doubles, Wilkins and Steelman paired up against Rumple and Nance. The Cardinal duo won the match 8-0. Foster and Norman teamed up against Bauguess and Greene. Although the two Falcons came closest to winning in doubles, they eventually lost 3-8. Rounding out doubles, Sydney Branon and Lauren Hardison were shut out by Kelly Johnson and Mary Garris 0-8. The Falcons will host the Rams this afternoon, beginning at 4 p.m.
Starmount Volleyball
The Lady Rams competed in a Tri-Match over the weekend at North Surry High School. During the Rams' first match, they swept McMichael in three games, winning 25-15, 25-20, 25-12.

Although winning convincingly against McMichael, the Rams lost a tough second match during the three-team contest. The Greyhounds took the win against the Rams in four sets. The Rams were edged by the Greyhounds in the first set, 21-25, but took the second set 31-29. The win was short-lived, however, as the Rams lost the remaining two sets, 15-25, and 24-26.

Falcon and Ram XC
In county rivals, Forbush and Starmount, both competed in a local cross country invitational, held at Fisher River Park over the weekend. In the men's varsity race, K.C. Winters took the top spot for the Falcons, finishing the five kilometer course in 19:16. Winters finished 31st overall. Zach Andrews was the second place finisher for the Falcons. He finished 65th with a time of 20:48. Elliott Vogler was hot on Andrew's heels, finishing only five places behind him. Vogler finished 70th, with a time of 21:25.
David Morrison was the top finisher for the Rams in the Men's varsity race, placing 57th with a time of 20:33. Travis Norman was next for the Rams, finishing 61st with a time of 20:36. Blaine Casstevens finished the 5k race with a time of 23:55 and finished 94th. Cameron Bare finished just behind Casstevens with a time of 25:33 and 96th place.
In the girls varsity race, Ruth Fletcher was the top finisher for the Falcons. She crossed the finish line in 24:27 and placed 39th overall. Angelica Andrews was the second Falcon to cross the line. She placed 75th with a time of 27:05. Taylor Wilhelm rounded out the varsity Falcons, finishing 88th place with a time of 30:23.
For the Lady Rams, only a pair competed in the varsity 5k race. Sarah Hardy crossed the line first for the Rams with a time of 25:43, while Becca Aplin finished close behind with a time of 26:02.
