Mr. Kenneth “Kenny” Lee Gentry, age 62, of Rock Creek Road, Hays, died Friday, June 8, 2012 at his home. Mr. Gentry was born October 4, 1949 in Wilkes County to William Lester and Lillian Wood Gentry. He was a member

of Round Mountain Baptist Church, Service Manager of Kmart, volunteer fire fighter with Mtn. View Fire Department where he also served on the Board of Directors and co owner of Uncle Kenny’s Gas & Grill. Mr.

Gentry was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife, Teresa Morgan Gentry of the home; one son, David Gentry of Atlanta, Georgia; three step sons, Danny Barnes of Sparta, Allen Boyd and wife Kim of High Point, Michael Boyd and wife Ashley of

Dallas, NC; two brothers, Phillip Gentry and wife “T” of Cary, Donald Gentry and wife Tabatha of North Wilkesboro; five grandchildren, Trey Boyd, Zack Boyd, and Tiffany Boyd all of High Point, Braxdon Boyd and Corben Boyd both of Dallas, NC; and one niece, Taylor Gentry of North Wilkesboro.

A memorial service will be held 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2012 at Miller Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Teague, Donald Gentry and Roy Shumate officiating. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mtn. View Fire Department, C/O Mary Johnson, 415 Brewer Place, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659. Miller Funeral Service in North Wilkesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
