A Hamptonville man has been charged in a sexual abuse case involving a child.
On June 13, the Yadkin County Sheriff’s office received a report of sexual abuse of a child, according to a release from the sheriff’s office Tuesday afternoon.
Following an investigation, Roaldo Padilla, 44, of Hamptonville, was arrested and has been charged with one count of felony crime against nature, one count of felony indecent liberties with a child and one count of felony sex act substitute parent/custodian.
Padilla is a registered sex offender. According to the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry, Padilla was charged with indecent assault in Pennsylvania in 2008 after an incident involving an 11-year-old at the time. He was not confined, but served five years on probation.
In the Yadkin County case, Padilla was given a secured bond of $75,000 with a court date of June 27. Detectives are continuing this investigation.
