Drug charges for East Bend woman

An East Bend woman faces charges after drugs were discovered in her vehicle.

On June 19, the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle for suspicious activity on Smithtown Road in East Bend. It was discovered the driver, Samantha Tuttle Crafford, 48, of East Bend, was on probation for previous drug-related charges. Upon consent to search the vehicle, several controlled substances were located.

Crafford was arrested and charged with one count each of felony possession of methamphetamine, felony trafficking opium, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver schedule IV (Alprazolam) controlled substance, felony maintaining a vehicle used for keeping and selling controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license revoked.

Crafford received a secured $40,000 bond with a court date of June 27.
