Local youth to take part in 4-H Livestock Show

Staff Report

Local youth will take part in the annual Yadkin-Davie 4-H Livestock Show on Aug. 4 beginning at noon. The show will be held at Lone Hickory Arena, 1950 Bethel Church Road, Yadkinville. Admission to the show is free.

The annual Yadkin-Davie 4-H Livestock Show is a great opportunity for local youth to showcase their animals as well as the knowledge they gain from these projects. Youth from Davie, Yadkin and surrounding counties will be exhibiting their beef, sheep and goats for a chance to win championships, prizes and bragging rights. Through these livestock projects, youth learn important life skills like sportsmanship, animal management, dealing with adversity, time management, patience and others.

The show starts at noon, but come out early and watch the kids groom and prepare their livestock for the judge to evaluate. The concession stand at Lone Hickory Arena will be open and cooking plenty of good things for guests to enjoy.

“These youth have worked hard and would appreciate your support. Change up your ordinary Saturday routine and come support our youth,” said Livestock Agent Phil Rucker.
