Emergency officials are monitoring the weather conditions this morning as more than an inch of rain has already fallen in the area from the remnants of Hurricane Michael.

Yadkin County is under a flash flood warning and wind advisory through this afternoon.

“We’re out in the Enon and Forbush area looking at the river and roads right now,” reported Yadkin Emergency Services Director Keith Vestal just after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.

He said the river is up but not yet out of its banks.

“Some of the communities that had problems last with are not having any problems yet,” he noted.

Vestal said he and other local officials would be on a conference call with the State Emergency Management department later this afternoon and they were continuing to monitor local conditions.
