Updated: Tyre Hall charged with firing at Yadkin County officers, jailed on $750,000 bond

HAMPTONVILLE — A local man faces multiple charges after allegedly attempting to break into a home and firing at officers when they arrived on the scene to investigate. Tyre Lee Hall, 30, of Mountain Grove Church Road, was arrested on Monday when deputies apprehended him after a short foot chase.

Yadkin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call on Nannas Drive. The owner reported that an armed man had entered the residence. The owner was able to push the alleged intruder out of the home. When officers arrived on the scene, the suspect fired a shot and fled on foot. The suspect was located hiding in a ditch in a wooded area with the weapon.

Hall faces two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon upon a government officer, one count of felony possession of a firearm by a felon, one count of felony possession of methamphetamine, one count of misdemeanor breaking and entering, two counts of misdemeanor resisting public officer and one count of misdemeanor of going armed to the terror of people.

Hall was given a secured $750,000 bond with a court date of Feb. 22. The Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by NC Highway Patrol and the SBI.
