Despite the threat of storms, the Yadkinville Fourth of July Parade was able to proceed on schedule last Tuesday. The streets were lined with children and adults, many decked out in patriotic red, white and blue.

Local law enforcement and veterans lead the procession down Main Street. The grand marshal for this year’s parade was local veteran and longtime educator, Lloyd Pardue.

Children squealed with delight as parade participants tossed candy. A float from Collide Church in Yadkinville handed out ice pops to kids along the parade route as well.

A host of fire trucks, tractors, classic cars and horses rounded out the parade.

Following the parade, there was a concert held at Yadkinville Elementary School with fireworks ending the evening.

Earlier in the day on July 4, a religious ceremony took place in front of the Yadkin County Courthouse with area preachers and musical performances.
