Letter to the editor

To the editor,

About a dozens of us have planted and tended a community garden on Monroe Street in Yadkinville. Each gardener has their own assigned row, and we may share produce with one another or others. The garden space , other material, and operating expenses have been donated by many people. Produce grown is considered the property of the ones who grew it.

Just because this is called a community garden does not mean that anyone can come in and harvest without permission. The person who grew the particular produce should at least be asked. Don’t believe anyone who tells you that you can harvest without permission.

Anyone who wishes a gardening space in the garden should contact Sam Williams or myself. A regular meeting time in the garden is Monday nights beginning at 6 p.m.
