To the editor:

Last week, Rotarians from the Rotary Clubs of Yadkinville and the Yadkin Valley banded together to put on a great golf tournament in support of Habitat for Humanity. Josh Oakes of Elkin garnered the longest drive while Ben Woodring, playing with the Fairfield Inn team nabbed the prize for closest to the pin.

The fundraiser for Upper Yadkin Valley Habitat for Humanity was spearheaded by Rotarians Jerry Stroud of Duke Energy, Tommy Jester and Sam Wagoner of First Citizens Bank and Willena Smith of Yadkin Bank, joined by over a dozen Rotary volunteers.

We appreciate the support of the tournament’s sponsors: Hibco Plastics, Indera Mills, Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, Yadkin Bank, Century21 Hudspeth Properties, Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation, PVH, BB&T, 67 Hardware, Belk , Chappell Construction & Coatings, CMS, Crossroad Hardware, Edward Jones – Chris Funk, Edward Jones -Barry Revis, Elkin Creek Winery, Elkin Veterinary Hospital, Eveready Mix Concrete, Farm Bureau- Greg Sidden, G.
