To the editor,

Citizens of the Yadkinville area have much to be proud of; the activities of the Arts Council, Unifi’s modern manufacturing facilities, and our slower-paced family environment.

There is one thing that is a local embarrassment — the parking lot at the U.S. Post Office. I believe out local postal officials have been concerned about the huge pot-holes and water drainage issues in their parking lot but have been unable to get help from their landlord. I also believe that a Post Office handling the volume of business ours does, deserves a better location than in an abandoned and derelict shopping center.

Our Chamber of Commerce, local town and county officials and postal customers of our Post Office need to complain long and loud to the powers that be to rectify this situation. It is the squeaking wheel that gets the grease!
