EAST BEND — The Forbush High School Hunter Safety team is no stranger to success. This weekend the team will travel to Harmony for the Regional tournament. If the Falcons make it past the district, the team will be looking to the win the State Championship for the third year in a row.
Competition is conducted on senior (high school) and junior (middle and elementary schools) divisional levels, with overall team and overall individual awards based on aggregate scores in all events. Home-schooled students and teams representing 4-H or FFA also can compete, provided they meet eligibility requirements.
Sixty teams will move on to compete at the state tournament on April 29 at the Lentz Hunter Education Complex in Ellerbe. Any team is eligible to compete in the National Tournament which is held July 23-28 at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico.
