MORGANTON — Antioch Speedway held an exciting race on June 15, and Yadkinville’s Tommy Zachary was able to take home a win.
Zachary won a very competitive Super Stock 4 Race. Trevor Chatham took the lead at the start of the event with Trent Chatham and Zachary in Hot Pursuit. Chatham led until Zachary was able to take the point with three laps remaining and go on to take the checkered flag. Trevor Chatham second, Trent Chatham third, Logan Richie fourth and Jimmy Millsaps fifth.
Chris Butler from Morganton took the lead on the first lap and never look back winning the $500 first place prize in the RPM graphics Pure Stock 4 race. Logan Richie put pressure on Butler late in the race but had to settle for second, William Myers third, John Reed overcame an early race caution to finish fourth and Riley Dunford had a flat tire early in the event but managed to come back to a fifth-place finish.
Benny Peeler from Morganton led every lap on his way to Victory in the Tire Plus and Tires Pro Thunder Bombers, Pure Stock V8 Race. Ray Hudson battled hard the entire event to bring home a second-place finish [top pure stock V8]. Johnny Reynolds spun late in the event but held on to a third-place finish, Steve Short fourth and Keylon Tate fifth.
Jonathon Sarratt from Shelby overcame some bad luck to win the extreme FWD’s race. Sarratt’s car cut off in the heat race when is throttle body accelerator shaft broke, during intermission he and his crew found the parts on the racetrack. He was able to epoxy the parts back together and it stayed long enough to come from the rear and win the race. Casey Shane led early and came home in second, Nick Watson third, JR Adams fourth and Kevin Saam rounded out the top five.
Colby Burks from Morganton made it two in a row winning the (James Wagoner’s welding) Young Guns race. Mason Pugh a strong second, Chesnie Chatham third, Trace Chatham fourth and Riley Miller fifth.
