SALEM, Va. — Guilford College basketball player and Starmount High School alumnas Heaven Walters earned All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference basketball recognition Wednesday night. The selections were made by the league’s head women’s basketball coaches and announced at the annual ODAC Tournament Banquet at the Salem Civic Center.

Along with Walters, Anais Weatherly (Mount Tabor) and Lauren Ramsey (North Davidson) also were recognized.

The trio helped the Quakers match the best regular-season winning percentage in school history and guided the team to the number-two seed in the conference tournament for the second straight season. Guilford, winner of six straight games, is ranked third in the NCAA Division III South Region Rankings.

Walters, a 5-8 senior forward, earned second-team honors. The Quakers’ second-leading scorer (11.8 ppg.) ranks fourth in the ODAC with a .571 field-goal percentage. A College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District V honoree, she has two double-doubles on the year and a career-high 16 games with 10 or more points. Walters also averages 6.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. She had one of her best games this season in a double-overtime win over previously unbeaten Husson University. Walters had 23 points, thanks in part to shooting 9-10 from the free-throw line, and also grabbed nine rebounds.
