EAST BEND — The Forbush men’s golf team has had a successful post season run. Last week, the Falcons placed third in the Midwest Regionals with an overall score of 337.
Individually, Carson Davis had the lowest score for the Falcons with a total of 78. The rest of the Forbush players also had a great run as Logan Lineberry shot an 85, Carson Snyder shot an 87, Corey Williams also shot an 87, and Micah Cranfill shot a 93.
With the third place finish, the Falcons traveled to Beacon Ridge Country Club for the State Championship, which took place on Monday and Tuesday.
On the first day of the NCHSAA golf championship, the Falcons were going for their best team finish in several years. Forbush was sitting in fourth place with a total score of 333, 22 points behind first place Wilkes Central.
Logan Lineberry was tied for 16th with a score of 80, Micah Cranfill was tied for 22nd with a score of 81, Sinjun Southard was tied for 36th with a score of 84, Carson Snyder was tied for 48th with a score of 88, and Carson Davis was tied for 55th with a score of 90.
The Falcons finished the State Championship on Tuesday afternoon. Results from the final day were not available by press deadline.
